I updated my site, but when I view the site, the old content is showing up.

This is caused by a browser-caching issue that occurs quite frequently among many web browsers. Here's what you can do: To force-reload on a Mac browser, hold down the "Option" key and click the reload/refresh button in your browser. On the PC, hold down the "CTRL" key and click your browser's reload/refresh button.

After I update my site, how soon until the changes take place on the real site?

All changes occur instantly. As soon as you upload a picture, change a color, etc, it shows up on your site.

How do I view my site?

If you are in the control panel there is a link to your site on the upper right hand corner. Just click that and a new window will open. And of course you can view your site at anytime, but just typing in the domain name in the address bar of your browser.
